My Week in Review 7/20!

I'm taking part in a bloghop check it out here.

In my life this week...
I am realizing that our move is coming soon!  I've packed some boxes.  It's funny what I've decided is important and must, must, must come with us!  I am working on cleaning out the cabinets, donating things we won't move....all the normal stuff...but then tons more!

Earlier this week I saw my family from Dallas -- had an amazing time!!!!  Then, the week started off busy only to have poor Vegas get sick this week and put a damper on things...he's better now though!  We've pulled tons of stuff from our walls so we have piles of things everywhere!

It's been fun and busy....now the weekend continues!!!!

In our homeschool this week...
I took the kids to the FEAST Bookstore here in San Antonio.  They have a great selection of homeschool materials both new and used!  I went and purchased Teaching Textbooks 3 for Gator.  I am going to use it to supplement our Horizon Math program.  Gator loves the program and is already on lesson 14.  We have been continuing to read but aside from that we are just trying to enjoy our summer!  I am busy planning for the fall!!!

Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share...
You need to do what is best for you and your child...not other people.  And, I was having this huge dilemma this week about whether or not I should let Gator just continue to do lesson after lesson in Teaching Textbook.  Well, I figure if she wants to do a few lessons a day why fret...she's excited and she's learning.  I shouldn't stop that!

Places we're going and people we're seeing...
We haven't done anything too exciting this week.  We have been seeing some friends and doing our normal activities.  Next week we will be seeing as many friends as possible!!!

My favorite thing this week was...
A friend brought me Chipotle for lunch. I love, love, love (times a billion) Chipotle - and I didn't have to cook!  Gator also did her routine during practice the other day and I was able to get some video -- its still practice as the kids have just learned their routines this month.  And, Baby A has started walking a lot!  It is so fun to see her walk with a huge smile on her face!  We also had a pizza and movie night (Rise of the Guardians) - it was awesome to spend time with the kids and just relax.

My kiddos favorite thing this week was...
I just asked Gator and she said, "Using my new watercolors" and Peanut said, "making bracelets" and Achoo said, "Jake" (I'm assuming he likes his new toy he just bought with some of his money)....

Things I'm working on...
I am still working hard on the move. This weekend I need to finalize our "keep" boxes.  I have also been scrubbing the bathrooms.  I absolutely cannot stand scrubbing the bathrooms!  Next weekend will be filled with cleaning. It has been busy but worth it.

I'm cooking...
I'm not cooking!  I have like one or two meals left to make and sandwiches!  The fridge and freezer are getting really empty!  The kids want to go to Chili's tonight for chips and salsa!  These kids really are mine :-)

I'm grateful for...
My military friends and family - seriously, they are awesome!

I'm praying for...
Great weather this week!  Our truck is being loaded....!!!!  And, that everyone is healthy for our move!

I rewarded my kids this week by...
A trip to Target to spend some of their money :)  Gator chose the new American Girl Movie Saige Paints the Sky and a small travel art kit.  Achoo chose a Jake toy....and Peanut chose to keep her money!  What did Baby A get? She got a diaper genie refill - yay!

Something I am ogling or having my eye on...
I've been looking at Sing Song Latin.  I think it would be a great addition to our homeschool curriculum for the fall.  I never took Latin in school but I can see the importance of it with the English language, grammar and vocabulary!
