Another check off the bucket list...

I have been working hard at accomplishing my Texas Bucket list.  I took the kids this past week to Natural Bridge Caverns.  It was crazy insane and filled with school kids on field trips!  What was I thinking?!  Well, it was fun none-the-less.  I bought bags of dirt and let the kids mine for rocks.

They started with their bags of dirt...dumped small amounts into these strainer like devices...

and then washed them.  I'm sure there are actual names for these tools but yeah...

The kids got these little bags, too.  Once they cleaned their rocks they put them into these bags.  We ended up with three bags full of little gems. There were other options also including arrowheads and fossils.

The kids had a blast and I'm so glad that we were able to check something off this list.  The area was so pretty and I really wish I had found it sooner. I would love to go walk around and do more exploring in-depth.

At the end of the day, I'm so glad I marked something off the list.  I keep looking at my list and I realize there is not enough time for everything I had placed on that list...perhaps I was a tad too ambitious!  I need to re-evaluate the time I have left here in Texas.  Perhaps a bucket list that is more accomplishable? Is that a word - ha!
