A4 arrives.

On August, 23 I was due to be induced with our fourth baby because of my blood pressure. As luck would have it, computer systems crashed at the hospitals and all inductions were cancelled. Since Vegas already had the time off I was determined we were going to walk this baby, we walked and walked and walked. Then, we got a phone call from the hospital that the systems were up and working so we went in at 10AM.

When I got to the hospital I was further along than I was on Monday (8/23 was a Thursday) and I was contracting. They admitted us and broke my water at 10:50. Several of the nurses thought a baby would arrive by lunch...people were guessing high seven low eights for weight. But, let's face it...they don't know!

By 12pm I hadn't budged any so we opted for pitocin (because that was the original plan anyways) and I figured I'd get an epidural (or in line for one anyways). I got my epidural at 2pm. I was only a I was feeling quite discouraged. Time went on...I ended up having to get the anesthesiologist to come back and fix the epidural...and by 4:45pm I was a whopping 6 (big dose of sarcasm). I really felt like it wasn't going to happen that day...maybe the next...or the day after that even...all I could do was remember that A1's labor was 47hr 28min and that A3's was days long too. *sigh*.

However, when the doctor walked in at 5:15pm I told her I had been feeling the contractions again and the epi again wasn't working. I told her I felt it at 5:05, 5:08, 5:09, 5:10, 5:12, 5:13...she checked me and saw the head!

Everyone started running around to prep things and I waited until they were ready...3 quick pushes later Autumn arrived at 5:29pm CST. She was absolutely everything we imagined and looks just like her siblings!!

We were so excited to welcome to the world, Autumn Elizabeth on August 23, 2012 at 5:29 CST weighing 6 pounds 13 ounces and stretching to 20'' long!
