Sisters...

IMG_2903

Peanut and Gator are the best of friends and sometimes the best of enemies. Recently, they have grown into best friends. Peanut often follows after Gator doing whatever Gator wants...Gator drags Peanut to play dolls, kitchen, doctor, blocks, coloring...but now Peanut drags Gator places too. I never knew how great a gift they were going to be to each other.

At first, I thought I was Gator's best friend. I know, I think highly of myself...but really I thought we were best friends. Then out of no where the other day...they were sitting there talking softly, giggling and looking at me giggling some more. Over the past few days I have realized...they are best friends with each other, they have formed their own secret club...and they are the best gift parents could ask for...

Shortly after this club formed it was made clear that Peanut wanted to move into Gator's room. Really, I had few other options at hand. She had climbed out of her crib and mastered climbing over the gate...

What could I do?

I could do a little room re-arranging and voila...two twin beds (well, Gator's bed and then the trundle from under Gator's bed...)...and now, well, its Gator and Peanut's room!

You're right...going to bed isn't all that easy. They do sleep better together though...

Well...sleep once they are done playing!

I'm sure this will be an adjustment...but I'm happy we moved them now. They are thrilled to be sharing a room. And, I guess I'm thrilled not to have to worry too much about people climbing out of cribs and getting hurt.

Oh...and I'm happy that they have each other...I hope they remember that a sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost.

So cute! They are very lucky to have one another. My sister and I are 5.5 years apart and we didn't really become friends till we were living apart. I hope when I ever have kids they'll be closer in age and just as good friends as yours!

They are so cute! I feel like their relationship with each other is similar to the relationship between my two and it's amazing to sit back and watch. Sorry you got demoted to #2 BFF, but it looks like your replacement is holding her own!
