Magic Milk!

Yesterday was one of those confusing days as a parent. Gator woke up in the middle of the night with an earache but had no fever. So, a few decisions had to be made...I contemplated what to do and decided to go ahead and get on the airplane anyways! We had no fever, no sign of cold...only this minor earache.

Turns out it wasn't so minor...after the flight she was fine but after nap she had a pretty high fever. (Gah!) I took her to the doctor and she had a really bad ear infection and her ear drum was in the process of rupturing (bleeding)...the poor kid!

So, while we waited at the pharmacy for all sorts of medication I found these cool magic straws. Gator told me she didn't want them but they looked pretty darn cool so I figured I'd get them anyways!

They are super easy to use...you pour yourself a glass of white milk and stick the straw in! Now, somewhere inside me I was sort of hoping that this would be a way to teach her white milk wasn't all that bad...but yet, its still chocolately but at least she'll come near the glass of white milk!

The inside of the straw has all these chocolate little beads. The more milk you drink the more the beads disappear.

Gator, who remember didn't want these straws, is now in love with them. She has been asking for her magic milk all day!

Oh...and if you're wondering...she's feeling a bit better today. Still has a fever and has her periods of feeling fine and other times she's completely wiped out. I'm sure she'll take a few days to recover as this was a pretty bad ear infection. Thankfully she's a little trooper!

Oh no! Poor Gator. I'm glad she is on the mend. So are you back up north? In Texas, or home? I can't keep track, even though I follow your blog. HA. Those straws are really cool!
