I'm sure if you know me - I've been on the kick to homeschool Abby. The schools here are bad...ok, let me be honest they are bad everywhere...and we're in the military so moving is always going to happen...and I'm big on safety etc. I won't bore you with the details but the jist is I feel its what I need to do for the kids...

I got a few book recommendations for some ways to start the kids homeschooling at this age. I went on Amazon and purchased them...ahh, they arrived last night. Although I didn't open them last night I was excited. This morning I opened them and started reading. I started thinking of our new schedule and how Abby will get some alone time each morning to do her projects. They had so many cool ideas of things to do...

This morning, we opted for playing with beans. I'm sure you're reading this and thinking "and beans are educational" but really they are...we practiced scooping and pouring...and counting and sorting...the list went on...but what was so funny is I thought this would be a 30 minute activity at the most...nope...she played for 90 minutes with a bucket of beans. Beans, like the kind you get at walmart in a bag...yes, dried beans.

We started playing with Amelia (before she went for nap)

But then Amelia went to nap so it continued just Abby (which I think she preferred):

I tried to get her to look at the camera...but she was so busy with these beans. We moved on from the beans to water...which she enjoyed but not nearly as much

Amelia ended up waking up...we played in the playroom for a bit and had some lunch. Then I brought Amelia upstairs to play and Abby stayed downstairs to hold her baby. Five minutes later I called Abby to come answer...

Poor kid was exhausted

Hope you enjoyed!!
